Harnessing farms and forests in the low-carbon economy: how to create, measure, and verify greenhouse gas offsets SH36 Dust Bowls of Empire: Imperialism, Environmental Politics, and the Injustice of Green Capitalism. Linking climate action with sustainable development goals (SDGs) might incentivize social and political support to forest conservation. However, further examination of the conceptual entry points for linking efforts for reducing forest-based emissions with those for delivering SDGs is required. This review paper aims to contribute to fulfilling this research need.

McCarl, B.A., "Permanence, Leakage, Uncertainty and Additionality in GHG Projects", Paper developed as input to book Harnessing farms and forests in the low-carbon economy: how to create, measure, and verify greenhouse gas offsets, A book developed by Environmental Defense, One of the most important challenges as regards renewable energy generation is to be able to move to a new low carbon economy in which energy demands can be met while the levels of CO 2 emitted are reduced. In this respect, most of the energy obtained from marine currents, the most predictable renewable energy source, is located at great depths.

For policymakers, this book is an excellent overview of a complex and growing topic. Harnessing Farms and Forests in the Low-Carbon Economy is a thorough well-written treatment of an important topic, and is a useful reference for those in agriculture, business, forestry and policy.”.

A new economy is coming—a low-carbon economy in which greenhouse gas emission allowances and offsets will be a commodity that is bought and sold on the open market. Landowners and farmers, the people who work the land, will have a competitive advantage in this new economy because land, if properly managed, can be made to store carbon.
